Join Ovoco as an Independent Consultant

If you were recently part of the Atlassian layoffs, we want to talk to you about building something together.

Ovoco is assembling a delivery team of independent consultants with deep Atlassian, ITSM, and configuration management expertise. You work as a 1099 consultant. You set your own rate. You choose the engagements that fit your skills and availability. Ovoco handles client relationships, contracts, and business development.

The Work

  • Jira Data Center to Cloud migration planning and execution
  • JSM Assets and CMDB implementation
  • Atlassian-to-ServiceNow migrations for clients moving off the platform
  • ITSM process design, change management, and service catalog buildout
  • Federal compliance where Atlassian tools intersect with FedRAMP, NIST, and CMMC

We have open-source tooling you would use and help improve: cmdb-kit for CMDB implementation and migration-kit for platform migrations. These are in production on real engagements.

How It Works

This is not a staffing agency arrangement. You are part of a small team that works together on engagements we win as a firm. Your name goes on the delivery. Your expertise shapes how we solve problems. As we grow the team and win contracts, there is a path to longer-term engagement structures for those who want them.

Who We Are Looking For

  • JSM administrators and consultants who have built service desks, asset schemas, and automation rules
  • Jira and Confluence administrators who have managed large Data Center deployments
  • Atlassian solution architects who have designed cross-product workflows
  • ITSM consultants who have implemented ITIL processes on Atlassian platforms
  • ServiceNow, BMC, or Ivanti consultants interested in cross-platform migration work
  • Anyone with federal or DOD experience running Atlassian tools in regulated environments

Clearances are a plus but not required. Remote work is the default.

Why Now

Atlassian Data Center is ending. No new subscriptions after March 2026, no renewals after 2028, read-only by 2029. Every federal agency and enterprise running Jira DC or Confluence DC needs a migration plan. Most of them do not have one yet. That talent pool just got larger, and the demand has not gone anywhere.

SCCM Security Consultant

SCCM Security Assessment Consultant

Ovoco is looking for independent consultants with deep Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM) expertise to join our security assessment practice.

We are building an SCCM security assessment offering that combines open-source tooling (ConfigManBearPig, BloodHound, Misconfiguration Manager) with CMDB-based remediation tracking. Most organizations treat SCCM as routine IT infrastructure, not as the Tier-0 attack surface it actually is. We help them see the difference.

The Work

  • SCCM infrastructure security assessments for federal agencies and enterprises
  • Running ConfigManBearPig and mapping findings to Misconfiguration Manager attack categories (CRED, ELEVATE, EXEC, RECON, TAKEOVER)
  • Identifying privilege escalation paths, credential exposure, and hierarchy takeover risks
  • Building remediation plans with persistent CMDB tracking (not PDF reports that get filed and forgotten)
  • SCCM hardening guidance: HTTPS enforcement, PXE security, NAA replacement, client push restrictions
  • Active Directory attack path analysis using BloodHound

What We Are Looking For

  • Deep SCCM/MECM administration experience (site server management, hierarchy design, role configuration)
  • Understanding of SCCM security: network access accounts, client push installation, PXE boot, boundary groups, RBAC
  • Experience with BloodHound, SharpHound, or other AD attack path tools
  • Familiarity with the Misconfiguration Manager research or SCCM-specific offensive techniques
  • Pen testing, red team, or security assessment background
  • PowerShell proficiency

Federal clearances (Secret, TS, TS/SCI) are a strong plus for DOD engagements. Remote work is the default.

How It Works

You work as a 1099 independent consultant. You set your own rate and choose engagements that fit your availability. Ovoco handles the client relationships, contracts, scoping, and business development. You deliver the technical assessment work.

This is a new practice area for Ovoco. You would be shaping it from the ground up, not slotting into an existing process.
