Federal Proposal Writer and Coordinator
Ovoco is building a team of experienced federal proposal writers and coordinators.
You would be engaged on a project basis for specific proposals, color team reviews, or ongoing proposal support. Work ranges from writing technical and management volumes to coordinating full proposal efforts from kickoff through submission.
The Work
- Write compliant technical volumes, management approaches, past performance narratives, and executive summaries
- Develop proposal outlines, compliance matrices, and response templates
- Coordinate proposal schedules, assignments, and deliverables across writers, SMEs, designers, and reviewers
- Facilitate or support color team reviews and incorporate feedback
- Develop win themes and discriminators that connect strengths to evaluation criteria
- Ensure proposals comply with solicitation instructions, page limits, and formatting requirements
- Manage proposal production including final formatting, pagination, and assembly
What We Are Looking For
- 3 or more years of federal proposal writing or coordination experience
- Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and common evaluation methodologies
- Strong writing skills for translating technical content into evaluator-friendly narratives
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat
- U.S. citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
- APMP Foundation or Practitioner certification
- Experience with IT services and digital transformation proposals
- Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, FrameMaker, or LaTeX
- Experience developing proposal graphics
Public Trust preferred. Active Secret is a plus for proposals with classified content.
How It Works
You work as a 1099 independent consultant. You set your own rate and choose engagements that fit your availability. Ovoco handles the client relationships, contracts, scoping, and business development. You deliver the work.
Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience. Rates are negotiated per engagement based on scope, duration, and clearance requirements.
