ServiceNow CMDB Implementation Consultant
Ovoco is building a bench of experienced ServiceNow CMDB implementation consultants to support upcoming federal and commercial engagements.
You would be engaged on a project basis when Ovoco wins contracts or task orders requiring ServiceNow CMDB design, implementation, or optimization. Work may include direct client delivery as an Ovoco team member under prime or subcontract arrangements.
The Work
- Design and implement CMDB data models, CI classes, and relationship types within ServiceNow aligned to client requirements and ITIL best practices
- Configure ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping to populate and maintain CMDB accuracy
- Develop and execute data quality rules, reconciliation processes, and health dashboards to sustain CMDB integrity over time
- Integrate CMDB with incident, change, and problem management workflows to drive operational value from configuration data
- Conduct current-state assessments of existing CMDB implementations, identify gaps, and build remediation plans
- Create and deliver training materials and knowledge transfer sessions for client staff
- Produce technical documentation including design documents, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
What We Are Looking For
- 3 or more years of hands-on ServiceNow CMDB implementation experience
- Demonstrated experience designing CI class hierarchies, relationship models, and identification rules
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, or ITOM
- Understanding of ITIL configuration management principles
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or equivalent experience
- U.S. citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS-ITSM or CIS-ITOM)
- Experience supporting federal civilian agencies (GSA, HHS, DHS, DOE, SBA)
- Experience with CMDB health scoring, data quality frameworks, or CSDM
- Previous work on GSA OneGov ServiceNow implementations
Public Trust or higher preferred. Active Secret or Top Secret is a strong plus.
How It Works
You work as a 1099 independent consultant. You set your own rate and choose engagements that fit your availability. Ovoco handles the client relationships, contracts, scoping, and business development. You deliver the work.
Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience. Rates are negotiated per engagement based on scope, duration, and clearance requirements.
