Desktop Publisher - Proposals and Reports
Ovoco needs desktop publishers who live in Microsoft Word and can format multi-volume federal proposals to exact specifications.
You would format and produce federal proposals, technical reports, and deliverables under deadline pressure. Version control and overcommunication are key, as handoffs happen frequently to make deadlines.
The Work
- Format and produce federal proposals and technical reports using Microsoft Word templates and styles
- Ensure compliance with page limits, font requirements, margin specifications, and agency formatting standards
- Manage version control across multi-author documents with multiple concurrent editors
- Build and maintain Word templates with proper styles, cross-references, TOC, and numbering
- Support final production including pagination, assembly, bookmarking, and electronic submission
- Coordinate with writers, designers, and reviewers during production cycles
What We Are Looking For
- Expert-level Microsoft Word proficiency (styles, templates, cross-references, TOC, track changes)
- Experience with federal proposal formatting and production
- Extreme attention to detail and ability to follow formatting instructions exactly
- PC with latest Office 365 (required, Mac versions not sufficient)
- Availability for last-minute projects including evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Adobe InDesign or FrameMaker for complex layouts
- Experience with SharePoint for document collaboration
- Familiarity with federal proposal compliance requirements
- Experience with LaTeX for technical publications
Must be eligible for federal background investigation.
How It Works
You work as a 1099 independent consultant. You set your own rate and choose engagements that fit your availability. Ovoco handles the client relationships, contracts, scoping, and business development. You deliver the work.
Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience. Rates are negotiated per engagement based on scope, duration, and clearance requirements.
